Character's personality: Rumored to be an emotionless doll, Alexiel is quite the opposite; she has an encompassing love for all creatures and goes to great lengths to protect them from suffering, even at the cost of personal sacrifice. Proud, brave and somewhat impulsive in her actions, the Organic Angel yearns for freedom in order to live after an existence in captivity. She’s conscious about her status as woman (Heaven is sexist) and wishes she had been born a man to accomplish her desires completely.

Alexiel doesn’t judge people for what they are, how they were born or how they were created. Like Lucifer, she tends to see through them and often detects the pains that demons conceal, the vileness the so called angels hide, as well as her own faults. Thus, she despises hypocrisy and rebels against those who make of it a form of life.

She doesn’t delude herself of being the pure and mighty savior others claim she is. Alexiel is honest with herself and believes that she is nothing more than a puppet, dangling with the strings that menace to strangle her spirit: a marionette that only has a sea of corpses under her feet is hardly the portrait of a true Messiah, in her opinion.

Alexiel loves her twin Rosiel more than all other creatures. She fought in wars, endured reincarnations and suffered cruel punishments in her quest to free them both from the thirst God has cursed them with - and to confess without fear that she does indeed care for him.

Character's history: The formerly official version claimed that Alexiel was the twin sister of Rosiel, one who rebelled against Heaven out of love for God and jealousy that he preferred her brother to herself.

This was far from the truth.

In the Beginning, there was Adam Kadmon, female and male as one. After the Genesis of Heaven, the Holy Hermit bore the first set of twins: Alexiel and Rosiel, the original pair that the Creator shaped so to split the powers of the Seraphita.

Alexiel was born as the female part: the beautiful, positive concept of all things natural and thus, in control over the elements of the world. Rosiel, by contrast, was a negative concept born as a shapeless, old creature made of flesh and wires. Seeing the pain of her twin, Alexiel asked God to build him a body using her own parts, ever regenerating. And the Creator agreed and in exchange she was made to promise that she would never show affection towards her twin. If Alexiel were to do so, Rosiel would die. God feared that the twins could unite against his power and therefore thought that separation would make the siblings easier to manipulate.

Alexiel agreed to the terms including the painful process of granting a body to Rosiel. After the deed was done, God sealed her powers away via her incarceration to the apparently pristine Garden of Eden. There, the Organic Angel spent her days in solitude, forced to eat the Forbidden Fruit, the body of the Adam Kadmon itself; she could count only on the company of the sisters, some birds and the occasional visits from her brother who sought the love and approval she contractually denied.

It was in Eden that Alexiel met Lucifael (later known as the Demon King, Lucifer). He had just been bestowed his duty of becoming the Prince of Darkness and, angered with this fate, he sought to spite God by raping and killing his “beloved daughter.” According to the legend, she lay in the Garden of Eden like a living doll. When Lucifer attacked, Alexiel was distracted observing the bitter fate of a helpless bird that had eaten the Forbidden Fruit. Lucifer pinned her with his sword, exclaiming his resentment and how he could easily devour her since she was a thing without emotions, less than a person.

As easily as she had been trapped in his embrace, Alexiel broke free, snatching his blade to put the bird out of its misery. Then she turned to him, showed sympathy in concern to his fate and encouraged him to rebel against what God had intended. Lucifer realized that Alexiel was nothing like what he had heard. She was a being of love that couldn’t display her feelings, a woman with the same eyes as he. Overwhelmed by affection, Lucifer gave her a quick kiss that was greeted by a violent attack. Alexiel saw the future demon lord flee from Eden with parting remarks of how she was his woman now, a matter that she had best remember, should she ever escape from Eden.

The order of events in Alexiel’s life after this is disjointed and fragmented. Somewhere along the way, she befriended the Archangel Uriel, the Elemental Angel of Earth, and witnessed her twin’s confession that his body was rotting along with his mind. Rosiel asked, though thinking she did not care for him, to kill him before that happened. Then she was released from Eden. Lucifer was undoubtedly the author of the deed, having fooled his own vassals in Hell that his soul was taken by a stranger to Sheol who mysteriously stole it from his body. During this distraction, it is believed that he released Alexiel from The Garden. As punishment, God erased Lucifer’s memories and sealed his soul in a sword – the Nanatsusaya- who dared to wield it became mad until the day that Alexiel came by it. She confronted the evil spirit, promising to reveal his past in exchange of service.

Since that day, Nanatsusaya and Alexiel fought together against angels for she had sided with the Evil race in the second holy war after realizing the hypocrisy of her brethren. During this era, Alexiel saved and mentored the heir of Anagura, Kurai. The war finished with the confrontation between Rosiel and Alexiel. She wanted to fulfill her promise to her brother, to kill him before he lost his mind but faltered at the last minute, she could not bring herself to do it. Instead, she sealed Rosiel in Assiah, hoping one day she could defeat God and free both of them of misery. However, this action weakened her greatly and was easily captured by her twin’s followers.

Back in Heaven, the High Council put Alexiel on trial for her actions and she was forced to lie about loving God in order to protect her brother. Jealous, Uriel sentenced her body to be trapped in an angel crystal and her soul to incarnate in Assiah as a mortal who will live a miserable life and die a painful death, over and over again.

It was during Alexiel’s last incarnation, as Setsuna Mudou, that finally she could find release. She chose the boy as her Messiah, to act as a man she would have been born as since the beginning. After dire battles (in which she occasionally manifested, taking control of Setsuna’s personality) Alexiel could finally confess her feelings to Rosiel, freeing both of them from that thirst their cruel Creator had started. Unfortunately, it was too late to save Rosiel from his fate and he asked his sister to end his life so he could join Katan. Alexiel complied and then allowed Setsuna (who had not just Alexiel’s power but also Rosiel’s and the lingering fading light of the Adam Kadmon) to strike down YHWH in order to save Creation and his sister, Sara. Lastly, Alexiel is seen reconciling and embracing Lucifer as God is destroyed.

In the game, Alexiel will experience memory loss and confusion about her identity (at the beginning, until everything becomes clearer). By the time Setsuna died in the future and Alexiel was released, she was dazzled by the third wave and taken to Ad Interim world since then. The experience of thousands screaming lives in her head and the unnatural atmosphere of that realm (similar to Eden in some ways) fragmented her mind. Killing God a while ago proved to be exhaustive in power; therefore she’s slowly healing and recovering, far from her prime (so much that and the third wave affected her, that she remained comatose until recently).

In her confused state Alexiel recalls vaguely her twin, even less so Lucifer but above all, she seeks to be bathed in the light of her Father and Mother, Adam Kadmon, to rekindle her spirit.

A Sample RP post:

For every creature, birth was an experience of deep pain, and to be reborn, to be returned to the original body in violent fashion, was equally excruciating.

Setsuna died in bliss, in mundane happiness that was denied to her for eons and maybe for years to come. He perished for her to be reborn again into a world that she had been anxious to see with her own eyes, feel with her own skin without wielding a bloodstained sword or constricted by the strings of fate.

That was such a short-live delusion Alexiel allowed herself to be immersed in; the utopia where she would cease to suffer forevermore (that is the hubris of all rebels, to believe their fights could build a better world at the end of the road).

Then it came finally.

Her muscles twitched, her peaceful face grimaced when the spirit sank into the slumbering body. There was no Prince Charming to kiss Sleeping Beauty nor did she wish for one. She had come this long almost without aid; she could take the last steps alone.

Alexiel willed to flutter her eyelids open wide, ignoring how much they weighted and how weak she felt – her stomach recoiling with hunger and the thirst burning her throat. It was dark, wherever her body was laying, shadows everywhere she gazed. Either she had lost sight or she was in a cave, an underworld deprived of light. Last, she mused, was the most likely occurrence. She felt no wind caressing her hair and flesh, nor grass under the tips of her fingers, just a hard stone surface.

There where no sounds of creatures or voices of people. She could not utter anything either, for she lacked the might to open her mouth. In what kind of oblivion she had been put in? What had happened all these years she lived in Setsuna?

See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil, Alexiel thought ironically at the novelty of the concept in her current circumstances. But there’s evil in everything, wishing for none and pure kindness is having a world without shape.

But that was no time for cheap philosophy; she had not waited millennia to be freed only to awake in a brand-new cage. The sole idea of that sickened her.

She struggled with her body, summoning the stored astral power she had to stir her limbs and vainly attempting to rise, to fly away from that darkness. It did not matter where, Alexiel just sought to behold the world without the tyrant who ruled her entire fate.

As she stubbornly reached out the stale air, lifting her right arm with great effort, a blinding light suddenly washed her face and chased all the darkness that surrounded her form. Someone talked and she couldn’t understand the words uttered, but she recognized the voice. It was impossible yet it was.

Hail to you, my holy parent. Guide me away from God’s taint and cradle me, the first born of your exalted flesh.

Tears sprung out her stung eyes and she relaxed, swept away by the warm light. Another delusion she had, age was catching her in the weaving of broken dreams and would be fantasies.

Birth and death were the most painful events in one’s life, so devastating that only happened once for a reason. Within the holy light, Alexiel remembered every each of those she had to endure in the past.

In her remising, the angel found her voice to scream.

Journal Sample:

What is this place now? Which city? When in time?

What is my name? I have so many. I have been so many.

The pulse of life feels wrong. The entire world… is different. It suffocates me.

I feel weak even without a garden to hold me. But which garden? I hunger for fruits that don’t bear the face of my brethren.

The light came, so bright and holy; it swept away me whole before fading. I have forgotten the words spoken to me with notes as clear as bells. Where is the light? It can’t be gone so easily. I can’t leave me with nothing but answered questions.

‘Tis strange. Why does my hand yearn to wield a sword so badly?

That would be "was taken by a stranger away from Sheol."

Sorry, I was tired. Also I skipped some details about Alexiel in Setsuna and as that Japanese courtesan because the background was getting too long. *coughs*

Don't worry about it; you're showing a wonderful knowledge of Angel Sanctuary and Alexiel on a whole, which is really what we require. :)

As being said to all characters with intense power, since Adam Kadmon is the focus of all the 'events' here and is the 'evil' side of him that needs to feed on the efforts of the people within Interim Earth, would it be possible to place a limit on Alexiel's ability to approach him?

He'll become reachable eventually, but for now, let's just say his power is omnipotent. :3 Just so people don't start unneccesarily challenging him when they shouldn't and what have you.

Other than that, welcome, enjoy yourself, and it's good to have you with us!

Yup, that's why I put she was still weak and recovering from the battle against YHWH and without her memories (I thought about this point). Not only that but AI world will act as an Eden of sorts, while won't suck all her power, it limits it. Even so, for now (due to her lack of memories), she's going to support whatever Adam Kadmon does (because whatever she can recall is positive about him).
